Born and currently located in Tucson, AZ, Naveena is a South Asian American yoga and meditation instructor raised in a traditional Hindu household. During her childhood, she was introduced to the spiritual concepts of yoga by her parents who regularly read Hindu scriptures and integrated the practices of the eight limbs of yoga into their lifestyles.

At the age of thirteen, she sustained a chronic injury. In an effort to strengthen and restore mobility, she began a daily asana (physical yoga practice) focused on therapeutic joint movements and strengthening. With time and commitment, her spirit, soul, and body gained strength and mobility fully returned. Naveena believes that every form of yoga presents its own benefits to students depending upon their varied needs. She seeks to honor her ancestors who preserved and fought for yogic practices through her offerings.

Since receiving her RYT-200 in 2015 in traditional Hatha and Vinyasa style, she has completed an additional 150+ hours of training studying adaptive and accessible styles of yoga including pranayama, meditation, mantra, yin, restorative, chair, and yoga-nidra. A culmination of knowledge and lifelong experience in the philosophical practices of yoga have fostered her ability to guide inclusive classes that build inner fortitude, outer strength, and community.

Her classes aim to infuse alignment based, intuitive, and joyful movement with reverence for our bodies and the eight limbs. She has gained thorough experience teaching a wide variety of styles with diverse populations and bodies and strives to bring an equal balance of awareness and tranquility to each student and every class. Her practice and teachings are rooted in the belief that radical self-care can cultivate a space of empowerment and self-inquiry within every individual. Every offering and practice is intentionally and purposefully designed for all levels and all bodies to foster inner liberation.
